Thanksgiving for the Gift of a Child

As well as a baptism, there is a special, simple service of thanksgiving, which is a lovely time when you can be with friends and family, ask for God’s blessing and pray for your child.

It is different to a baptism in that the words that are said by the parents and godparents (sponsors) are designed for those who do not feel ready to make the public promises that a baptism in a christening service involves. For some who may be new to church or not familiar with prayer, this can feel a more comfortable and natural choice. It is important that when choosing the type of service you would like, you decide what is right at this time for your family.

If you are exploring the idea of a christening or service of thanksgiving, we would love to hear from you, so please contact us for an informal chat.
