The Make a Wish foundation

Local girl, Bethany Coles, will give back to the charity she now works for by doing a 10,000ft skydive in an effort to raise much needed funds.

After living in Stone for most of her life, 22-year-old Bethany moved to Camberley, Surrey, in January of this year to fulfil a life-long dream of working for Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK – the charity that grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.

She said: “When I was eight my mother sadly lost her battle with cancer. It was an experience on holiday with her that made me want to work for Make-A-Wish; my Mum had always wanted to go paragliding and on our last family trip to Tunisia her wish came true. For a moment life wasn’t about chemotherapy and hospital appointments – apprehension and pain were replaced with freedom and laughter.

“I saw that day how much a little bit of fun can impact on the life of someone who is facing a life threatening illness and how much it benefits not only the individual but also their family.”

This year alone 1,200 children will turn to Make-A-Wish to have their wish granted. Please sponsor Bethany in her personal challenge and help grant a magical wish by visiting www.justgiving.com/Bethany-Coles
