St Michael & St Wulfad, Stone, with

St Saviour Aston by Stone

DROP INN CAFÉ is now closed for 2 weeks, reopening April 26th. Can we say again how much we appreciate the ladies who look after our needs on a Tuesday lunchtime?

EASTER LILIESEaster just 2 weeks away – if anyone wishes to purchase a lily in memory of a loved one, please see Norma at St Michael’s or Christine at St Saviour’s. Donations towards other Easter flowers would, of course be very welcome

What is the most expensive present you have ever been bought? Is it something you treasure and value? Or are you rather put off by the cost? Imagine owing a fur coat – only to discover the small hole where the animal that produced it had been shot so you can wear it! e can be easily embarrassed by such things

But whatever you own, whatever you have been given, realistically it will be as nothing to the cost of Easter: Jesus goes all the way to the Cross for love of us – “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.” Think how much the Father loves YOU! – the awful cost just for me

One Christmas I can remember here is when a member of the congregation here told me how affected he had been when I used their Christian name at the Communion rail: ‘N, the body of Christ keep you in eternal life.’ Such a small thing, but it had underlined to them that eternal truth – that this story involves me! Not just a history from long ago, but an ever present reality as Jesus continues very close

May God bless you in this season of Passiontide – and may the eternal truth be ours this year
