The Parish Churches of

St Michael & St Wulfad, Stone, with

St Saviour Aston by Stone

September 15th saw our 40th Wedding anniversary, as many of you already know. Our daughters and son in Law had told us that last Saturday, they would be taking us out for a meal:- little did we know that this was a blatant “fib” , and that they had actually organised a surprise party in St Michael’s hall, with many of our family and friends having driven big distances to celebrate with us!

So, last Sunday followed in the chain of events, with our enjoying cake with our church family after both 9.15am and 10.45am. Not only this, but they had colluded with Rev’d Alison to arrange a renewal of our wedding vows after 10.45am. To say that we were choked with emotion is putting it mildly!

So, instead of writing the usual “blurb” for the pewsheet, this week we want to say a huge Thank you to everyone who has shared the occasion with us. As I said to our guests on the Saturday night, you are all very special people as your cards and gifts have shown. Thank you is simply inadequate. We are touched and moved by your kindness. God bless you all
