St Michael & St Wulfad, Stone, with

St Saviour Aston by Stone

STIR UP SUNDAY:This Sunday 25th November. Christine Connolly is once again organising the making of the Christmas Pudding. If you wish to purchase one, please complete the order form which you will have been given with your pew sheet this morning. The cost is £4.50 a pint. Please remember to bring your bowl!! Thanks to Christine for organising this mammoth task!

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL  Friday 30th Nov – Sun 2nd Dec. We are looking for volunteers to man the church, provide refreshments etc during the weekend. We need a minimum of 3 people in church at any one time. If you can help, please sign the list at the back of church. Thank you.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!Can you help? Due to losing a couple of members from the rota, we are in need of some volunteers for the coffee rota. It would be a shame if we had to go back to once a fortnight like we used to do. The more volunteers we have, the less frequently you will need to do it. We are also looking for Sides people. If you can help with either of these roles please speak to Nichola. Thank you.

Puddings, Fairs and Christmas Trees from this weekend – all sure signs that Christmas is fast approaching! And the readings for this Sunday are about Christ the King. The real message of the season is – are you ready? Not for celebrating, with turkeys and tinsel, but for the time when Jesus shall come and the Kingdom of God arrives in all its fullness. That’s not supposed to be just the gloomy time that some people expect – but rather the time when all things come right. We celebrate King Jesus – when we see Heaven and Earth restored to what they should be

And we are to be signs of that coming Kingdom. Amidst all the things that go wrong – unrest, earthquakes and famines – we are the people who know Jesus to rule in our hearts and lives. It’s truly coming – and not just the man in a red suit!
