CAFE CHURCH FOR FAMILIES,is on Saturday 7 March 3-5pm at St Michael's Community Hall. Families who like Messy Church and want to explore further what it means to live as a Christian family, are invited to come along. There are leaflets at the back of church.

If you would like to help in any way, or could make some cakes, please speak to Revd Alison. Also, kitchen roll cardboard tubes and large newspapers are wanted for the craft activity.

When we lived in Lincolnshire, we shared one car. On Wednesdays, we would go into town together and Steph would go shopping, whilst I did other jobs, banking etc. The theory was that I would then catch her up in the Supermarket, and we would finish the shopping and go home together. All too often I would wander up and down aisles, looking for her, aware that if I had to ask, I couldn’t say what she was wearing!

How good are you at noticing things? This week’s gospel of the transfiguration is our last Sunday before Lent. The disciples with Jesus catch a glimpse of Jesus as he really is, the Lord of Glory. Most of the time, nobody saw Jesus as anything other than another ordinary man

So we are challenged this week to take another look. The sad truth of our age is that most people wouldn’t recognise the glorious Lord if they fell over him! Yet he is with us all the time and especially in our churches as he comes to us in word and sacrament. Maybe that’s what Lent is really all about:- stope, take time and look again

We shall have more details of our Lenten speakers next week. But in the meantime, let’s take time on Ash Wednesday to mark our new beginnings in Christ.
