This is the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. In many ways it calls for us to be a penitent people, full of sorrow for the past, where we have tortured and tried to enforce a uniformity of worship on people in the name of Christ

But Jesus does ask us to be one in his name – and there is also joyfulness that we have realised that this is his commandment – Love one another! In our age we have come to realise that we do not have the monopoly on Christian truth – and we are rightly suspicious of people that claim that they do! We pray that the love of Christ at work in us will draw us closer together – as we also come closer to him!

PARISH MAGAZINE – TOWER AND SPIRE.   After many years diligent service, Preb Michael Harding has decided that he needs to withdraw from being the “Format Editor” of the magazine. This means we need an enthusiastic person willing to put together the various contributions into a sensible order for 10 editions per year. If anyone is interested in talking this through, then please have a word with the Rector.
