The Parish Churches of

St Michael & St Wulfad, Stone, with

St Saviour Aston by Stone

Today, we welcome Bishop Geoff as our Celebrant and Preacher at both churches. We are delighted to have you with us.

This is extremely important. This year we are required to complete a new Electoral Roll. Please, if you are on the Electoral Roll, make sure that you complete an Electoral Roll Form to go on the new register. If you know of anyone who is on the Electoral Roll, but is not a regular attender at church, please check with them if they still wish to be on the roll and give them a form to complete. Thank you.

Today’s Gospel tells the story of the Wedding in Cana of Galillee. This story is narrated by St John only. The miracles of Jesus are signs, of who he is and therefore what God is like. The first sign is almost unnoticed. At a village wedding among his family and friends, Jesus turned extravagant quantities of water into the finest wine. The ordinary becomes the extraordinary.

O God of steadfast love

At the wedding in Cana your son Jesus turned water into wine

Delighting all who were there

Transform our hearts by your spirit

That we may use our varied gifts to show forth the light of your love

As one body in Christ. Amen.
